For many, the prospect of family time during the holidays is a double-edged sword. Celebrating both the Power of Education AND Experience

In our daily lives, it is natural for us to engage in criticism and judgement, despite our best efforts to avoid them. While these tendencies can provide valuable insights into our personal preferences and choices, they become counterproductive when used to undermine others or when driven by negativity and unkindness.

Each of us is unique, shaped by a multitude of factors that include our experiences, personal history, innate characteristics, preferences, and even our DNA. This diversity allows us to perceive the world through different lenses, offering perspectives that enrich our collective understanding. However, there are instances when we may struggle to comprehend or accept the behaviours or perspectives of others, finding them unfamiliar or contrary to our own.

Likewise, many of us are familiar with the feelings of being judged or criticised. Often, we become our own harshest critics, using self-talk to hinder our personal growth, creativity and pursuit of becoming our true selves. Fear of not meeting our societal expectations, concerns about self-worth and apprehensions regarding others’ opinions can stifle our progress and prevent us from embracing our full potential.

My journey as a young parent initially led me to pursue courses in Childcare and Education. Subsequently as a support worker for Headway, I underwent invaluable training in managing clients dealing with personality changes, depression and anxiety. Progressing to a managerial role within the organisation, I supported both the staff and a significant number of service users. My experience as a support assistant in an adult education setting further revealed the impact of teaching methods from the perspective of the student, prompting me to pursue teacher training and develop strategies tailed to individual needs within group settings. Finally in 2006 I embarked on my path as a hands-on therapist while simultaneously raising three children with my husband. Along the way, I embraced personal growth through various modalities such as Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), energetic work and becoming an energy healer, ultimately discovering the power of appreciating life’s simple joys and empowering others to realise their own potential.

Throughout my journey, I have witnessed countless individuals struggling to overcome their challenges, and I, too have faced my own formidable obstacles. Every day, I continue to learn and grow, striving to become the best version of myself. It is my unwavering commitment to self-improvement that drives me to support and uplift others, drawing upon the wealth of knowledge gained through education AND personal experience.

Our uniqueness lies in our diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. By celebrating and appreciating these differences, we can foster a more compassionate and understanding society. Through education AND personal growth we gain the tools to enhance our lives and extend a helping hand to others, creating a ripple effect of positivity and empowerment.
